The Deepwater redfish, which is also called Ocean perch, Atlantic redfish or golden redfish, belongs to the rockfish family and is mainly caught in Norwegian waters. The fish looks something like a bloated, red-colored perch with big eyes.
Apart from the appearance, the Deepwater redfish is exceedingly versatile and can be easily cooked, baked or fried with nearly any kind of marinade. Even though redfish can be prepared in similar ways to other whitefish, such as cod and haddock, the firmness and moisture of the meat makes it ideal for baking or frying.
The Deepwater redfish is usually a more affordable fish compared to more common whitefish.
